Roles and Responsibilities

Within this role, you take care that all systems run smoothly. You use monitoring systems to identify critical bottlenecks, you communicate those before they grow larger. Due to your proactive and responsible actions, failures remain an exception.
  • Supervision of our VMWare infrastracture (running on Linux and Windows servers)
  • Migration of our servers and services to AWS cloud
  • Supporting our network of Windows clients
  • Taking ownership in getting the job done while staying on top of things
  • Self-initiated supervision and monitoring of all our systems
  • Creation of backups, disaster recoveries (if necessary)

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Educational IT background (degree, apprenticeship, professional experience)
  • Unconventional thinking
  • Ability to turn business requirements into performant, scalable solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in: Linux, Samba, DNS, Postfix, nginx, FTP, IPSec/VPN, IPTables, Docker, Windows, Netzwerke, NAS, Vmware, SAN, Amazon Webservices (EC2, RDS, S3, Route53, IAM, VPC, Cloudwatch), Bacula
  • Good command of German and English (spoken and written)
